If you hit a cold piece of glass with a sudden blast of heat, it doesn’t stand a chance. It’s just physics. That’s where quartz halogen emitters come in. They’re basically the secret to getting that heat exactly where it needs to be without destroying the workpiece. Why these bulbs actually work Most heaters are slow. They rely on convection, which is a bit like trying to warm up a room with a candle. But these quartz lamps use short-wave infrared radiation. They don’t waste time warming up the air; they shoot energy straight into the glass. The real magic, though, is how fast they react. Because the filament has almost no thermal mass, it responds to voltage changes in milliseconds. This means you don’t have to just “flip a switch” and hope for the best. You can fade the heat in.
