Most people think of a bathroom heater as something to keep them from shivering while they towel off. But if you look at it from a build perspective, an IP65 infrared lamp is actually a secret weapon for fighting moisture. We didn’t just make these to warm up the air. We designed them to hunt down water molecules and stop mold from moving in.
How it actually works
Here’s the thing about standard heaters: they warm the air. The problem is, that warm air often hits a cold wall and turns right back into condensation. Our infrared lamps do something different. They send out short-wave radiation that sinks right into your damp tiles and grout. It basically shakes the water molecules until they turn into vapor. Once that moisture is in the air, your fan can actually do its job and pull it out of the room. It dries out the “mold zones” way faster than a regular heater ever could.
Built for the steam
Bathrooms are tough on electronics. Between the steam and the occasional splash, a cheap circuit can fry in a matter of days. That’s why we stick to IP65 standards. In plain English? The housing is dust-tight and can handle a direct jet of water without blinking. We seal every wire entry and use casings that won’t rust or trip your breaker just because someone took a long, hot shower. It’s just safer.
A few things to keep in mind
It’s not magic, and there are a couple of trade-offs. Infrared is “line-of-sight.” If you’ve got a thick shower curtain or a wall blocking the lamp, that spot is going to stay cold and damp. You’ve got to be smart about where you mount them to make sure the heat actually hits the walls. Plus, these lamps pull a decent amount of power. Before you go wild with the installation, double-check that your wiring can handle the load. If you’re putting in a few units, just run a dedicated circuit. It’ll save you a headache later.
